The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys is proud to announce a new initiative to support the sustainability of our Monroe County nonprofits, now and in the future. Thanks to a special gift from long-time Key West resident Jean Stearns (1922-2022), the first 100 individuals or families to provide documentation of a future gift of at least $25,000 from their estate to charity, through the Community Foundation, will be eligible for an immediate $2,500 gift to a nonprofit; documentation of future gift of $1 million or more will unlock an immediate $10,000.    

 

This opportunity is first come, first serve. To date, 21 participants in the Jean Stearns Legacy Challenge have documented $29,734,000 in future gifts, which has resulted in $142,500 in grants to the community now.
