Nonprofit professionals from across the region gathered this week at Marathon’s City Hall for the 3rd Annual Florida Keys Nonprofit Day, a sold-out event that brought together over 120 nonprofit leaders from across the Keys and South Florida to share knowledge, collaborate, and elevate the impact of local organizations.
Hosted by the Florida Keys Funders Alliance—comprised of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, Ocean Reef Community Foundation, and United Way of Collier and the Keys—the event featured nationally acclaimed speakers, including Will Bowen and Bruce Turkel, alongside nonprofit accounting expert Westin Fengler, CPA. Attendees gained valuable insights on leadership, communication, and financial strategies to strengthen their missions. A networking reception, generously sponsored by First State Bank of the Florida Keys, offered attendees a welcome opportunity to relax and recharge with delicious refreshments while fostering meaningful connections among the attendees.
“This is one of our favorite days of the year,” says Elizabeth Brown, interim CEO for the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys. “It’s a chance to bring high-quality professional development to our local nonprofits who do so much for our community. Each year gets better as we learn and respond to our nonprofit partners to bring them the timely resources they need to carry out their missions.”
This gathering continues to serve as a vital platform for nonprofit leaders to connect and grow, ensuring the sustainability and success of their organizations in the Florida Keys community.
