Moving Forward, Better Together
The Community Foundation seeks to fund a diverse range of nonprofit services benefitting communities and the environment throughout the Florida Keys. The 2021 Collaborative Grant Program welcomes proposals for work that is all of the following:
- Future-minded and forward-thinking.
- New and different in reaching new audiences, introducing new services or implementing new and innovative strategies.
- Collaborative in meaningfully incorporating the help of at least one other Florida Keys-serving nonprofit organization.
Every year the Community Foundation receives many more worthy requests than the grant budget can support. Grants ranging from $2,000 – $10,000 will be awarded for uses that reflect efficiency-focused planning. The competitive process will give preferential consideration to proposed work that is local knowledge-inspired and guided and that utilizes volunteers and other community resources.
Only 501c3 charitable nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Grants must serve the Florida Keys exclusively. The funded work must be completed by April 2022 at the latest, unless an extension due to exceptional circumstances is permitted. Please contact the Community Foundation with any questions you have about the eligibility of your organization or grant-proposal idea.
Only one application per organization allowed. (Serving as a collaborator for another organization’s application does not disqualify an organization from applying for its own grant, so long as its own proposal also fulfills the collaboration requirement.)
Applications must be submitted online via the grant application portal. Each applicant may include up to three letters of support (optional) which must be uploaded at the end of the online form in order to be accepted. Any applications or application materials sent by mail or email will not be reviewed. Please contact the Community Foundation if you need technical assistance.
