The Community Foundation of the Florida Keys is pleased to announce that local business owner and City of Marathon’s Vice Mayor, Robyn Still, has joined the Foundation’s Middle Keys Advisory Council. The Community Foundation manages over 200 charitable funds totaling over $25 million in assets, making grants over $2 million annually to support Florida Keys nonprofits. The Middle Keys Advisory Council is comprised of resident leaders from the Middle Keys and helps to connect the Foundation with the Middle Keys’ most pressing needs, and with the people, projects and organizations addressing those needs. Some of the Council’s most recent grant recipients include K.A.I.R., Marathon High School, Keys AHEC, and Habitat of Humanity of the Middle Keys.

One of the Foundation’s strategic goals is to expand philanthropy in the Middle Keys and this is a primary goal of the Middle Keys Council. “We are grateful to the Foundation for establishing the Middle Keys Advisory Council to assist nonprofits in the Middle Keys by providing them with much needed grant support,” says Council Chair and Foundation board member, Marian Buccafurni. “We are grateful to all of our regional council members who are committed to doing good in our local area.”

Robyn Still is the current Vice Mayor for the City of Marathon. She is also the current Chair of the Greater Marathon Chamber of Commerce, is on the board of the Rotary Club of Marathon, and sits on the boards of several local organizations. She and her husband own The Tackle Box, a bait and tackle store in Marathon. She moved to Marathon in 2016 from north Georgia after retiring from a career in law enforcement that spanned over 20 years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s degree in the Administration of Justice and Security. She is a Class XXX graduate of Leadership Monroe County and is a Take Stock in Children mentor. She and her husband have three sons, one of whom just graduated from Marathon High School.

“I am so excited to be a part of the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys,” says Still. “I believe that working together is the only way to have positive impacts on our residents and visitors.”
