Table Test

Pursuant to our conversation Friday re the website Wish List, attached is just a sample of the formatted export I will give you once all the submissions are in – I’ve color-coded sections to give you a general idea of how I envision the fields organized in a dynamic expandable/collapsible presentation.
Black – information for your instruction only, not to be displayed to the viewer.
Blue – visible on collapsed view (though also still visible when view is expanded); three fields evenly spaced horizontally across the “preview” bar.  Column labels should be frozen so as to remain stationary when scrolling.  Default sort order should be by “Organization Name,” though it would be good to include options to sort and/or filter by “Category.”
Purple – visible on expanded view only; stacked two-column table without borders, gridlines or headers (column headers in black are just to track which dollar amounts correspond with which narrative fields – b2 corresponds with d2, etc. – in case you reorder them); narrative field first and left-justified, dollar amount second and right-justified, both top-aligned.  Obviously as you can see, some submissions use the full five table rows available, whereas others use fewer…we want to make sure there are no gaps representing blank fields.
Green – visible on expanded view only, following purple section and preceded by space for breathing room; each entry should be identified by the column header (To learn more/donate: xxxxxx/EIN: xxxxx).  EIN should be very small and unobtrusive.  This info could be organized horizontally so as to maximize use of horizontal space and minimize use of vertical space.  If organized in a table, text should be left-justified and top-aligned.
In addition to capability to sort/filter, what are options for word-searchability?
Greg and Jennifer are copied on this message.  This draft organization scheme is to adjustments, but gives the general overview of the structure.  I anticipate I will be able to send you the actual final file on Tuesday.  Assuming we have between 20 and 50 submissions, how soon can this be live on the website?

We have been in operation since 1985 at our Key Largo location providing hands on marine science programs to hundreds of school groups annually, including our local schoolchildren. Like many non profits, we support ourselves through program service fees, but COVID-19 shut us down for nearly the entirety of our spring season in 2020, causing us to lose more than half of our annual budget – and we don’t know what will happen in the fall.  Our campus in Key Largo is large and we have a dedicated, highly-trained staff that provide outstanding marine science education programs.  In order to continue fulfilling our mission, we’ve pivoted to providing virtual and streaming programs,. Our programs are science-based and high quality, and we want our online presence to reflect the same quality as our in-person programs. In addition, providing our virtual labs keeps our hands-on programs and mission in front of the public eye, so that teachers know that we will be here next year for their marine science field program. Your donations will help make sure we’re still here! They are gratefully accepted at www.mrdf.org or via mail to MarineLab/Marine Resources Development Foundation, 51 Shoreland Drive, Key Largo, FL 33037.
