Here’s a great example of how CFFK works with people to leave a legacy that supports their passions and helps the place they love into future generations. Six Keys nonprofits will benefit from a significant $1.3 million legacy gift from the late Dr. Patricia Major to CFFK to support programs for residents. Keys nonprofits sharing her generous support are the Florida Keys Outreach Coalition, Florida Keys SPCA, Friends of the Key West Library, Key West Garden Club, Key West Orchid Society, and Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden. Dr. Major was a physician in Key West for more than 40 years until she passed away in late 2018. Visit cffk.org to learn more about legacy giving and how we can help. Housing market is showing no signs of slowing down in 2021. For some donors, this is a great opportunity for charitable gifts of real estate, whether a primary residence, second home, rental property, or even niche commercial property. If your second home is in the Keys, for example, gifts of real estate might be the perfect philanthropic solution plus tax benefits. CFFK can help transfer the gift into a donor-advised or legacy fund. We can help you navigate rules for real estate gifts and recommend advisors to help. With the possibility of another stimulus package and potential tax reform, many advisors suggest donors stick with a tried-and-true medium for achieving charitable giving goals in 2021: bequests. Bequests can be extremely tax-efficient. CFFK is an ideal recipient of estate gifts through a will or trust, or through a beneficiary designation on a qualified retirement plan or life insurance policy. Donors can designate a fund at CFFK as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy or can transfer ownership of certain policies. We can help you set up a fund or provide flexible options to help meet your goals for 2021. Find out more at cffk.org or call Jennifer at 305-292-1502. ... See MoreSee Less
