Friends of the Foundation

Donors will become Friends of the Foundation with gifts under $1,000.

Memorials and Honorariums

Donors can make a gift to the Community Foundation in honor or in memory of a family member or loved one. (Note: Please indicate who this gift is in honor or in memory of in the “Additional Information”.

The Florida Keys Future Fund supports grants to local nonprofits throughout the Keys in all areas, including the arts, environment, healthcare, recreation and more. This grant making fund is truly the power of collective giving in action.

The remainder of this practical and interactive workshop will be presented by Dave Lawrence and Greg Charleston (more below), who will teach the “how to” of writing successful grant proposals and help improve essential grantwriting skills. Learn best practices, trends, tips and tools for rethinking your organization’s approach to grantwriting and new ways to tell your story to turn proposals into funding.

Beneficial for any nonprofit leader, staff member, or volunteer working with or serving in an advisory capacity with a nonprofit or other community group.

PRESENTERS

Dave Lawrence is President & CEO of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. His 29 years as a nonprofit administrator has focused on fundraising, grant making, marketing, arts policy development, strategic planning, and public art. He is a frequent national grant panelist and was a long-time member of the Indiana Nonprofit Sector Advisory Board for the Center of Philanthropy. Previously, Dave served as the President & CEO of the Arts Council of Indianapolis and was an Executive Committee member of the United States Urban Arts Federation. Last year, he was named a Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest honor.

Greg Charleston is a communications professional, nationally-published writer, grant reviewer and nonprofit management consultant. His current work with the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys involves all aspects of marketing. He serves as a Communications Group member for the Community Foundations of Florida, part of the Florida Philanthropic Network. He has served on the board of numerous nonprofits and has worked as an adjunct professor teaching English Composition and Creative Writing. He has extensive grant writing and grant reviewing experience over the past 30 years and currently serves as a grant adjudicator for the Broward County Cultural Division.
