Special thanks to our event sponsor, the Lower Keys Medical Center.

Since 2001, the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys has been hosting the annual Unsung Heroes event to recognize the tireless efforts of our community’s volunteers. Each Monroe County 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is invited to nominate one Unsung Hero to recognize that individual’s unpaid contributions over the past year. Each Unsung Hero will be presented with a certificate of appreciation at our celebratory luncheon on February 7th.

Participation is limited to the first 100 eligible organizations to submit nominations, due to capacity limitations. The nomination deadline is December 20, 2019. Only 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organizations located in Monroe County are eligible to participate.

One Unsung Hero per nonprofit and one Organization Representative are invited to attend the event as our complimentary guests. Additional seats may be reserved for $60 each, on a space-available basis. This event SELLS OUT every year, so please return your nomination form as soon as possible to guarantee your participation.

Please complete the nomination form below along with the following required items:  1) a typewritten paragraph of 50 words or less about your Unsung Hero’s contributions to your organization, and 2) a high quality JPG format photo of your Unsung Hero, to be used for the event program and promotions. Email to Holly at hallen@cffk.org. (Head shots of the Unsung Hero are preferable and may be taken with a mobile phone. You can also text the photo to Holly at hallen@cffk.org.)

Important Note: the Nomination Form is a fillable PDF. In order to save information on the form, you must download and save to your device first and then open in Adobe before you begin typing. Otherwise, your input will not be saved. You may also print the form, complete and scan to return as an email.

No reservations are confirmed without a completed Nomination Form and required attachments, along with payment for any additional seats. Tables seat 12 and will not be held without payment.
